- Check that the shock-absorbing surface isn’t too compressed and loosen it if necessary. Fill up any holes that could have formed, for example underneath the swing seats.
- Check the immediate surroundings of the playground for any hazards like overhanging branches or laundry lines.
- Remove any leaves or other debris that might have accumulated in or around the climbing frame.

The wood of your climbing frame is a natural material that may change over time. The good news is that you can easily inspect and maintain it to keep it in great condition.

- Check if the sliding surface is still in good condition; is it still sliding smoothly and is everything intact?
- If the slide wobbles a little, check whether the ground anchors are still firmly attached to the ground.
- Clear out any leaves or branches that might have accumulated on the slide.
- Check the connection between the slide and the play platform for any gaps. Loose clothing or strings from hooded jackets could get stuck in these gaps and create a safety risk.
Climbing frame sandbox inspection
A tidy, well ventilated sandpit is essential for hygienic outdoor play and imaginative adventures.
Keep your sandpit in top condition by following these simple tips:
- Don't cover your sandpit with a solid lid, as this can prevent ventilation and cause moisture to form in the sand. When your sandpit is not in use, use the Jungle Gym sandpit mesh to keep things dry and clean.
- When necessary, replace the sand of your sandpit to keep things fresh. Jungle Gym does not stock sand, but you can easily purchase this from your local hardware store.
