When is a climbing frame spare part needed?

A good rule of thumb for knowing when to replace a part on your climbing frame is to check for visible signs of wear or damage. If a piece looks like it’s ready for an upgrade, you’ll find a replacement for most non-timber parts in this category. Can’t find the exact spare part you’re looking for? No worries—you can contact  customer service , and they’ll be more than happy to help you get exactly what you need!

Keep your climbing frame safe and adventure-ready

Keeping your climbing frame safe means staying on top of essential spare parts. Items like  bolt caps  and  bumper pads  play a big role in maintaining safety year after year. If these parts wear out and aren’t replaced, the stability of your climbing frame could be affected. That’s why its recommended to give your climbing frame a good inspection at least once a year, especially after it hasn’t been used for a while, like after the winter months. Regular checks help ensure that everything stays in top shape for safe and adventurous play!

Assembling your climbing frame is simple and straightforward with Jungle Gym's instructions, but some preparation and tools are needed. Every Jungle Gym climbing frame comes with an assembly manual, the required screws and drill bits, plus screw-in ground anchors. From your own toolbox you will need a few basic tools like an electric drill, tape measure and screwdriver. Before you get started with the assembly of your wooden climbing frame, make sure that you have all the neccessary tools, an appropriate installation surface, a helping hand, and enough time to enjoy the assembly without rushing. Do you feel like assembling your climbing frame is not your thing? No problem! In that case, you can make use of our assembly service and leave it up to a professional.

Jungle Gym wooden climbing frames are made of high-quality timber, which is an eco-friendly, strong and durable material that blends seamlessly into your garden. Plastic climbing frames, on the other hand, are made of plastic that doesn't age well, isn't very eco-friendly and often stands out in natural surroundings. If you want a climbing frame that lasts for years and fits into your outdoor space, we recommend choosing a wooden climbing frame for you and your family.

It is important to assemble your wooden climbing frame on the correct type of ground surface. Jungle Gym recommends installing your climbing frame on an unpaved, steady surface such as grass or compact sand. Avoid placing it on hard surfaces like asphalt, or any similar materials, including carpet or artificial grass laid over hard surfaces.
However, if the only option for you is a hard surface, not to worry! This can be transformed into a suitable ground surface by installing impact attenuation surfacing such as rubber tiling. Jungle Gym does not offer this in our collection but they can be found in most hardware stores. For further information, have a read through theguideon recommended ground surfaces for climbing frames.

To keep your wooden climbing frame safe and looking its best, regular maintentance is key. Make sure to remove leaves, branches and dirt from the swings, play platform or other corners where debris can accumulate. If needed, you can also gently wash the playset with a pressure washer on a low setting to remove built-up grime. It's also important to reapply water-based stains or wood preservatives every few years, to protect the wood in your climbing frame since treatments and stains naturally fade over time. This will help keep the timber clean, but also protect your climbing frame from the elements like rain, snow and sun. With the right maintentance, your climbing frame will stay in great condition throughout the seasons, for years to come!
